GSMD Club AGM

This year due to Covid-19 the AGM will be held via Zoom on 21st November at 11am. The details of the meeting will be sent to all members so everyone can attend.

Breed Health Conservation Plan

The KC are compiling a Breed Health Conservation Plan for all dog breeds. The GSMD Club have been asked to submit a survey on the current health situation of the breed in the UK.

I have drawn up a spreadsheet listing known conditions that affect the breed and ask if everyone owning a GSMD would fill it in and return it to me, the BHC, on smbrailey@gmail.com if their Swissy has been affected by any of the health conditions mentioned or any other that you have experienced.

It is hoped as many owners as possible will co-operate to protect and improve the future health of the GSMD breed. Thank you for your participation.

The results of this survey will not include any dog names or breeders, only numbers are required. The data will be collected and published on the KC website and also on the GSMD Club website.

Great Swiss mountain Dog

Thank you for your entry today, there was only one dog absent out of a total of 9 on a very wet and windy day due to storm Dennis.

Puppy 1 Entry 1st Burns Springhaze Remarkable 8 month old boy. A lot to like here, a good head, nice eyes, well boned and muscling up very nicely. Moved OK but could do with a bit more ringcraft. BP

Junior 1 entry Absent

Post Graduate 5 Entries 1st Braileys Springhaze Power of Dreams 19 month old bitch Nice feminine head with correct almond eye colour. Well muscled and plenty of bone for growth. Kept a good topline on the move which won her this class. 2nd Parkin-Russells TamarackGSMD Coral pour Spaclere(Imp) Bitch, almost 2 years Good strong head, well boned and with good muscle. Good topline when standing but not held so well as winner when on the move. 3rd Langleys Springhaze on Fire

Open 2 Entries 1st Vandrills Springhaze High Expectations Could not believe that this boy is now a veteran. He is a credit to his owner and the breed. Good strong head withcorrect almond eye, good muzzle and excellent bite. Moved well in such a small ring. All round good example of the breed. BOB 2nd Braileys Jaroslava Yarina Comme il Faut at Springhaze (Imp) 2& half year old bitch Nice type, well balanced with a nice head and good body shape. Well boned with good muscle and held topline on the move. Pushed the winner hard for BOB.
